Viva Las Vegas!

My best friend, Ronnie had plans with some friends to go to Las Vegas for a birthday celebration, room were to be comped by his friend. Well to make a long story short, Ronnie was a fifth wheel to two couples and his friend lied to him about the accomodations. Ronnie wound up in a sleazy fifty dollar room! He called me a few times during this ordeal then finally when he was in a room he called me. "Jay come and get me , 'I'll pay for gas, food and I will pay you too!" So being the good guy I am, I dressed in 10 minutes and hit the road at 1am Friday night. I arrived at his motel at 5am, We got 1 and half hours sleep on two wooden door mattresses! At 630am we headed out to breakfast sans shower and after cruising "The Strip" (lot of changes including the loss of the Stardust Hotel and it's famous sign).

STARDUST GOES BOOM!
http://www.vegastodayandtomorrow.com/stardust.htm

We found a Marie Callenders that opened at 8am.
After we drove to Caesar's Forum shops (photo) to a new incredible part of the mall with spiral escalators! There was a Houdini museum and a Sony store that we browsed, then we were off to the Bose Outlet store were the were NO DEALS. We drove the road again to Stateline for buffet lunch then drove Historic Route 66 to Ronnie's home. I saw his place for the first time in two years. Very nice. I departed on my own and stopped at Charlie Brown's Farms where I bought some Jordan Almonds and some small robot items for my collection. I got home at 7:30pm and not even tired! What a day!

Life

"Life has its way of teaching us. Life has its way of confusing us. Life has its way of changing us. Life has its way of astonishing us. Life has its way of hurting us. Life has its way of curing us. Life has its way of inspiring us."

A brilliant film by Alfonso Cuaron of Harry Potter #3 Fame and Y tu mamá también with long single shot takes and moody art direction, and Clive Owen!

Disappointing, by director Ed Zwick of "Glory", one of the greatest American films ever made

Rehash of positive thinking, marketing genius by naming it The Secret

Mad Part 2 :"Not my War!"

That's right I don't support this war and.... I don't support our troops. That's right I said it!
The war in Iraq is now 4 years old and any soldier who has not left honorably or gone AWOL does not receive my appreciation.
This war is not only unpopular but illegal and immoral. We were lied to and the Bush administration should be tried in court and Bush impeached or hanged!
I thank the men and women who served in the beginning following their contractual duty to our country but once the truth was revealed they should have objected, many have. True Heroes!
Any person who knowingly volunteered for this war in Iraq deserves to be shot and killed. It would further eliminate the dumb ones, which the military feed on.
What have we gained in this war against terror? Nothing but we have lost precious freedoms and now the rest of the world hates us.
Bush after 9/11 missed a unique chance to unite the world and boy did he blow it!
That's my opinion! Bombs away!

"I'M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!"

That's so gay!
A phrase that is going to the court system,
Is this harassment? Yes I think it is,
But must we embrace the word "gay" in this case as other groups made queer, nigger and ghetto benign?
No. Lets turn the word to the people who try and change everyone's' morals to their own. "The Christians"!
How is Gay marriage going to affect their lives, it won't, but the gay communities lose many American equal benefits for not being married.

So let's adapt "That's so Christian!"
Tell your friends and let's turn the tables!

I'm back!

Sorry for the absence, I will try and keep things up to date !
